I fortunately don't often get sick 🤧🤒 I don't wish to tempt fate! The reason I share this is because it has not always been this way. For example, I had tonsillitis continuously for about a year from age 6 to 7, and eventually a consultant whipped them out. I won't focus on the pros and cons for that, in this email... Later in life, in my 30's, I stopped getting sick. I mean, I NEVER got sick. The whole office could come down with a cold, sore throat or flu, and I wouldn't be affected.
I thought it was due to my amazingly strong immune system 💪 ... ...but I later discovered it was because I had an auto-immune condition which meant my immune system was on high alert constantly. Not healthy either! Nowadays, having managed the AI condition, I do sometimes catch things. And that's perfectly natural and normal. I get the odd start of a cold or occasional tingle of a sore throat. BUT... it goes so quickly, that I barely notice it. My son is off ill at the moment with some bug (he says it is Coronavirus, not melodramatic at all), but 4 days in and so far I don't have anything but I know if I do, I will more than likely deal with it really quickly. How? Because my immune system is working as it should, and because I have the tools to help me. My immune system is strong, so whilst I come into contact with the same amount of illnesses as the average person, I just don't suffer very much. These are some of the things I have done, and do, to make sure my immune system 'Army' is functioning well: 1. I healed my gut. I had major gut issues in my 20's and 30's, and having spent time working on healing the incredibly important digestive system, my immune system works much better (did you know 70-80% of your immune system is located in the gut?). 2. I take very high quality supplements including a food grown multivitamin/mineral, a pure, heavy metal free omega 3 fish oil and a powerful anti-oxidant supplement, every single day. This has been a game-changer. 3. I use therapeutic grade essential oils. These are the second game-changer for me. When I do get the starts of something, I have powerful anti-viral and anti-bacterial essential oils such as Clove and Oregano oils. And I take an anti-viral blend of oils every day to stimulate my immune system. 4. I eat very little refined sugar, lots of (mostly) organic vegetables and some fruit, predominantly plant based diet, with some fish and lots of healthy fats. I avoid processed foods most of the time. I juice or smoothie vegetables with a little fruit. You'll notice, there's no mention of medications. I just don't really use them any more. If I had to, I would, but I don't. Here's a short video I recorded, with more tips on how I boost my immune system, and deal with viruses. Check it out. If you suffer with seasonal illnesses such coughs, colds, chest infections or flu, throughout the winter (or even in the summer), and too often for your liking, or if you feel that when you do get something, it takes AGES to get rid of it, your immune system needs some attention. If you feel run down, or sickness is affecting your work or your family life, there are things you can do! If you'd like to find out more about the therapeutic uses of essential oils, here are my upcoming online and live class dates.
