Energy balls are a staple in my fridge, they’re brilliant for a post workout protein hit, but also great if you fancy something sweet but want to be good! I usually make mine with cacao powder but I fancied a change from the chocolatey flavour so decided to experiment. Usually when I experiment it might take me at least two goes to get consistency right, but with these they were spot on first time! I decided to add in some oats for slow release energy, which I haven’t done before, and it added a lovely texture to them, combined with the dates (which I always use) which give them chewiness. And using nut butter, rather than nuts, made them really extra creamy.
I also added in some ground flax seeds for healthy Omega 3 fats, coconut oil for more healthy fats in the form of MCFA (medium chain fatty acids), and some cinnamon for added flavour and sweetness. Prep Time - 10 Mins Total Time - 10 Mins Ingredients 1 Cup Rolled Oats 1/2 Cup Cashew Nut Butter 8 Medjool Dates 1/4 Ground Flax Seeds 1 Tbs Canadian Maple Syrup 1/2 tsp Cinnamon Powder 2 Tbs Organic Cold-Pressed Coconut Oil Instructions
